The AKAI Professional MPD226 is a Black USB MIDI pad controller for beat programming and hands-on control of compatible music software or MIDI equipment. Its sixteen illuminated pads respond to velocity and pressure; four pad banks provide access to sixty-four pad assignments.

Four faders, four rotary knobs and four switches provide hands-on parameter control. Three control banks allow up to thirty-six assignments. Note Repeat, Full Level, 16 Level and Tap Tempo support pad performances, while the LCD provides access to controller settings.

USB carries MIDI data and supplies power from a compatible computer. The mini-jack MIDI input and output use the supplied 1/8-inch-to-MIDI adapters; these are MIDI connections, not headphone or audio sockets. The controller does not generate its own audio.

Includes one MPD226, a USB cable, two 1/8-inch-to-MIDI adapters, software download cards and manufacturer documentation. Software downloads are subject to the manufacturer’s availability, registration and compatibility requirements. A computer, audio system, five-pin MIDI cables, mobile-device adapter and optional external power adapter are separate.
