The Alesis SR-18 is a standalone drum machine for songwriting, practice and live accompaniment. Twelve velocity-sensitive pads provide access to drum, percussion and bass parts, with a library of over 500 drum sounds and 50 bass sounds. Reverb, EQ and compression help shape your rhythms.

Build songs from 100 preset and 100 user-programmable patterns, with A/B variations and fills. Pattern Play lets you trigger patterns from the pads, while Drum Roll, Tap Tempo and separate layer muting support hands-on performance.

Connections include main left/right outputs, an auxiliary stereo output, headphones, an instrument input, MIDI In and Out/Thru, and two footswitch inputs for Start/Stop and Count/A/B/Fill control. The standard package includes the SR-18, power adapter and documentation. It can also run on six AA batteries, sold separately. Footswitches, headphones, connecting cables and external speakers are not included.
